Abstract:
In order to study the effect of sample temperature on radiation characteristic parameters of laser induced breakdown soil plasma, a Nd:YAG single pulse nanosecond laser was applied to incidence rays into soil samples collected from the campus of Bengbu College. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy at different sample temperatures was achieved. The effects of increasing sample temperature on plasma line intensity and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) were analyzed and calculated. The evolution of plasma electron temperature and electron density with the sample temperature was analyzed through Boltzmann oblique line method and Stark broadening method. The cause of the radiation enhancement of laser-induced soil plasma was discussed. Experimental results demonstrated that the spectral intensity, SNR, the electron temperature and electron density of plasma are positively related to the sample temperature and reach saturation at 100 °C. For different atomic lines, the sample temperature has different enhancement effects on the spectrum intensity and SNR. Visvisibly, increasing the sample temperature appropriately can improve the resulting spectral quality.
