Abstract:
Raman and IR spectra of three samples with the nominal compositions Bi
1.2Sr
1.8Cu
3O
x,BiSrCaCu
3O
x and Bi
1.2Sr
0.9Ca
0.9Cu
3O
x were measured at room temperature. The prominent differences were observed in the spectra between superconducting and nonsuperconducting materials. The superconducting phase in SP2 and SP3 were considered to be Bi
2Sr
2CaCu
2O
8, and some vibrational bands of superconducting samples were assigned, Cu-O bent modes at 462 and 294cm
-1 in Raman spectra were suggested to associate with the superconductivity of SP2 and SP3.
