Abstract:
The SF
2+ signals were found prominment in the range of 235~270nm by radiating the SF
6 molecules and their fragments with unfocused laser. The fragments of SF
6 molecules were produced in the dc discharge of the SF
6/Ar (1/10) mixture. The perturbation caused by the dc-discharge ions has been eliminated successfully in the process of probing REMPI ions, The correlation between the magnitude of the SF
2+ signal and the wavelength of laser was observed in this range. The correlation between the magnitude of the SF
2+ signal and the intensity of laser was obtained in the wavelength of 247.09nm. We estimate that there probably is a new electronic state in the energy tange of 38623~42328 cm
-1 in the base of analysis of the experimental data. The vibronic frequency of
v1 vibronic mode
ω1=926 (4) cm
-1 and the probably band origin
T0=38623 cm
-1 are reported. The new state is temporarily assigned to the B state of SF
2 radical in terms of its energy 1evel.
