Abstract
The oxidation of N-diisopropyloxyphoshonyl methionine in aqueous solution induced by Br2-·、Cl2- ·anion radicals has been studied using pulse radiolytical technique It is characterized by a primary attack at the sulphur atom by halide radicals and the formation of three-electron-bonded internediates NDM(S∴Br, NDM(S∴Cl), which lead to the transent absorption at 400 nm and 390 nm respectively. The reactive rate constants have been measured under various conditions, the reactive mechanism has been determined and the results were compared with that of methionine under the same condition.
