Studies on the Phase Behaviors of CTAB/n-C₄H₉OH/H₂O System:²HNMR and ESR Methods

The phase diagram for cethyltrimethylammonium bromide （CTAB） /n-C₄H₉OH/H₂O system was measured at 25 C . ²HNMR was used to determine thestructure of the lyotropic liquid crystal （LC） in the phase diagram. The results have showed that all the liquid crystal exists as lamellar style. ESR studies showed that the structure parameter of the ESR probe （5NS） in LC phase is 0. 37±0. 01; and the ESR probe rotated more anisotropicly as thewater contents increased in the W/O micelle region.
