Study on the Curium I Even-Parity Energy Levels Using PLS-BPN

Abstract
An improved pattern recognition technique, partial least square-back propagation network (PLS-BPN), has been used to reassign the even-parity energy levels of the atom Cm I . The results show that (1) most previous assignments are further confirmed; (2) the electronic configurations of some energy levels which were differently assigned by KNN and CPN methods are determined here; (3)an energy level whose electronic configuration has been assigned experimentally seems to be questionable.
