Abstract
Linear sweep voltammetry has been used to study the electrochemical behavior of Cobalt-sulphur cluster Co6S8P(OCH3)36 with trimethylphosphite participation in CH2Cl2 solution with 0.1 mol/L Bu4n on the Pt electrode . The results suggest that cluster Co6S8P(OCH3)36 may be occursed three reversible redox reactions. The electron-transfer sequence of Co6S8P(OCH3)36 shows \left.\left.\mathrmCo_6 \mathrm~S_8\left\mathrmP\left(\mathrmOCH_3\right)_3\right_6 \underset+\mathrme\stackrel-\mathrme\rightleftharpoons \mathrmCo_6 \mathrm~S_8 \mathrmP\left(\mathrmOCH_3\right)_3\right_6^0 \stackrel-\mathrme\underset+\mathrme\rightleftharpoons \mathrmCo_6 \mathrm~S_8 \mathrmP\left(\mathrmOCH_3\right)_3\right_+\mathrme^+ \mathrmCo_6 \mathrm~S_8\left\mathrmP\left(\mathrmOCH_3\right)_3\right_6^2+ The trication species is stable only in short time and the range of-0.8 ~+ 1.25V of cyclic voltammetric tests. The CO6S8P(OCH3)36 is a electron rich Cluster and would be electron-storage device.
