Preparations and Studies of Carbon Nanotubes——STM Images

Scanning tunneling microscopy （STM） has been used to investigate the structureof carbon nanotubes in the deposit produced from a discharge method.STM imagesshow the pattern and stracture of carbon nanotubes deposited on highly orientedpyrolytic graphite （HOPG） substrate. In addition, the bundle packed tightly by several carbon nanotubes and the surface pattern of the nanotube were observed.
