The Effect of Trigonal Field on the Pressure Induced Shifts of Spectra of Ruby

In this poper,start from the conception of expansion of the electron radial wavefunction under pressure,taking further into account the effect of trigonal field,using for B.C.Dq.ζ and δas functions of the linear compression ratio k, we calculated theoreiically the spectrum shift of ruby.The result agreed well with experiments.It is shown that the trigonal field gives considerable contribution to the pressure induced spectrum shift.
