Energy Transfer Reaction of Metastable He（2³S） Atom with CH₃CN

Energy-transfer reaction from metastable He（2³S） to CH₃CN has been observed by using flowing afterglow technique. The CN（B-X） and CH（A-X） violet emission bands were obtained.Based upon the spectroscopic data, Franck-Condon factors of the transition CN（B-X） were calculated and used to simulate the Δv = 0 bands. The calculated results of vibrational distribution were fit well with the experiment. The reaction mechanism were also discussed.
