Dynamic Stability of Langmuir Monolayers

Abstract: The dynamic stability of Langmuir monolayers of stearic acid and 19, 21 - docosadiynoic acid (DDA) on different subphases at different surface pressure, oscillating frequency or temperature was instigated respectively by applying the VISCOS model on KSV LB-5000 Langmuir balance. It was showed that the lower the surface pressure or the oscillating frequency was, the more stable the monolayer was. Adding some metal ion into the subphase could also strengthen the stability of the monlayer.
