Stochastic Resonance in the Iodate-Arsenic(Ⅲ) Reaction

Abstract: We demonstrate the phenomenon of stochastic resonance in the bistable IodateArsenic (Ⅲ) reaction with a sinusoidal signal and a gauss white noise imposed on the flow rate by computer simulation. With the help of the signal and noise, the system hops between the two steady state. From the analysis of the time series output, the signal is amplified by noise.When stochastic resonance is achieved, the signal-to-noise ratio pass through a maximum at an optimal noise level.
