Correspondence Between Quantum and Classical Dynamics inPhotodetachment Near Elastic Wall

Abstract: The photodetachment of H? near an elastic wall was investigated and an analytical formula of the crosssection was derived. It was found that the cross section is a superposition of a smooth background and sinusoidal oscillation, which depends on the distance between the ion and the elastic wall. The classical dynamics of the photo-detached electron and its quantum correspondence was analyzed. In this model, the semiclassical photodetachment cross section is exactly the same as the quantum result.
