    Synthesis and Characterization of CePO4 Nanoparticales

    • The structure of CePO4 nanoparticle was characterized by transmission electron microscope(TEM), electron deffraction (ED), X-ray diffraction of powder(XRD), and FTIR spectrum. The results show that surface-modified CePO4 nanoparticles consisted of nanoparticle core of CePO4 and surface-modified layer which was binded to surface of the CePO4 core.Because of the organic surface-modified layer, the nanoparticles have good dispersity in organic solvents, such as chlorform,liquid paraffin et al.. The lubricating properties of surface-modified nanopartides as additive were also investigated. The results indicated this nanoparticles had good lubricating and antiwear properties.
