The Vibrational Distribution and Vibrational Relaxation Rate of SO(A, v') in The Energy Transfer Reaction of Metastable Rare Gas Atoms With SOCl2

Abstract
Excited radical SO(A) was produced in the energy transfer reaction of metasable rare gas atoms (He(23S), Ne(3P0.2), Ar(3P0.2) with SOCl2 by using discharge-flowing afterglow technique. The relative vibrational distribution and vibrational relaxation rate constants of the radical SO(A,v’) were measured and the mechanism of energy transfer reaction was discussed. Addtionally, the formation rate constants of SO(A) for the reaction He≠+SOCl2 was obtained.
