Transport of Ni2+ ions Through a P507-CCl4 Supported Liquid Membrane

Abstract
The effects of stirring rate, temperature and initial concentrations of Ni2+ ions in the feed on the transport flux of Ni2+ ions through a P507 -CCl4 supported liquid membrane(SLM) were studied in this work. The experimental results show that, the flux of Ni2+ ions is almost stable as the stirring rate is over 500rpm, and it increases with the increasement of the innal concentrations of Ni2+ ions in the feed, but it keeps at a certain value as the initial concentrations of Ni2+ ions in feed are more than 4. 5mol/1,this Shows that the concentration of complex within membrane on this condition is almost saturated. The activation energy of transport is 36. 6kJ/mol according to Arrhenius equation. A transport equation of metal ions which contains the acid concentration in the feed, carrier concentration within membrane and the acid concentration in the strip is established theoretically, and it gives good explanation of these effect factors to the transport of Ni2+ ions.
