Influence of Bonding and Polarization to Nephelauxetic Effect

In this paper, the nephelauxetic effect parameters β（β=1-k∙h） of transition elements in various crystals were studied. To find that the value dcpcnds on number N of ligands, the covalency f_c and the polarizability α_L of ligand in any bond. The expression of h parameter was given as h= （N∙α_L∙f_c）^1/2. Finally the h values of some crystals and the k values of Cr³⁺, Co²⁺, Ni²⁺, Mn²⁺, Ti²⁺, V²⁺, Cr²⁺, Fe²⁺ ions were calculated.
