Investigation on the Combination and Wear Property of High- wear-resisting Composite by Chemical Co-deposition
-
Abstract
Chemical co-deposition technology was used to fabricatenickel alloy composite con-taining diamond, alumina and silicon carbide, and the combination andwear resistance of the materials which were composed of metal matrix and hard non-metallic powders have been inves tigated. The hard phase was incorporated with the reducing depositionof nickel alloy, no any reaction between the second phase and matrix could be observed, which presented the interface characteristic with machanical banding; with the increase of the addition of hard phase, the crystallizing tendency of the composite enhanced. The hardness of the composites obviously raised, diamond composite attained higher hardnesscompared with the nickel alloy; after age heating at 400 C, the nickelalloy of the composite precipitaterd phosphide Ni,P, so that the composites can be strengthened further, resulting in the ascension of the hardness and the decrease of the wear volume, thus the composites possessed higher wear resistance than other materials.
