The Direct Detection of Macroscopical Structure in Cross-Linking Polymer

Abstract
It was related that high resolution C-13 NMR can be used to determine the "H" and "Y" type of crosslink in irradiated polyethylene. It was shown in this study that the "H" type formed during irradiation of polyethylene in vacuum at absorbed doses below the gel dose is 1.5~2.0 times larger than the "Y" type. It is also clear that the "H" type of crosslink are important contribution to gel formation in polyethylene.
