Kinetic Phase Transition for the Oxidation of SO2 on a Catalytic Surface
-
Abstract
We introduce a "partial simulation" method to calculate the kinetic phase transitions for the oxidation of SO2 on a catalytic surface. For the pure Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism, The reaction system exhibits three phases:the SO2 -poisoned,the O-poisoned and the reactive phase, in consistence with the Monte-Carlo results. When the Eley-Rideal mechanism also takes part in the process, the O-poisoned phase disappears.
