Mechanism of Photodissociation of n-C5H11I at 248nm

Abstract
TOF spectra of photofragments I* and I were obtained from 248nm photodissociation of n-C5H11I. The energy disposal among translational energy and internal energy was obtained.The results show that the total translahonal enetgy of photofragmcnts, as compared with our previous results, becomes smaller with the increase in molecular weight of alkyl group. When the molecular weight of the alkyl group is increased, the curve crossing (from I* to I) probability at crossing region or potential energy surfaces becomes larger.
