Gaseous Photodissociation Deposition Kinetics of Ultraviolet Photolysis of Mn2(CO)10

Abstract
Using QCM technique, the kinetics of gaseous photodissociation deposition of Mn2(CO)10 induced by 254nm UV light is studied. The linear dependence of the photodissociation deposition rate on the number of original Mn2(CO)10 molecules has been obtained, which conforms to rules of gaseous molecule single-photon dissociation rate equation. The gaseous molecule single-photon dissociation is the rate-determining step in ultraviolet photolysis of Mn2(CO)10 deposition. Mn2(CO)10 photodissociates into manganese carbonyl with lower number of coordination and deposits on the surface of gold plated quartz crystal. The effect of the vapor pressure of Mn2(CO)10 and added gases (O2,CO,N2 and Ar) has also been studied, the result shows that the deposition rate varies obviously with increasing the pressure of the added gases.
