Pettern Recognition Applied to the Cm Ⅱ Even-parity Energy Level

    • The principal component analysis (PCA), one of pattern recognition methods, was applied to assign the electronic configuration of even-parity spectrum of the second energy levels of curium (Cm Ⅱ)and some criteria for classification of configurations among 5f87s, 5f86d,5f7s7p and 5f76d7p were obtained. The synthetical effect of energy level (E), isotope shill (S),angular-momentum quantum number (J)and Lande factor (g)on the classifications of the 5f87s, 5f86d, 5f7s7p and 5f76d7p electronic configurations of Cm Ⅱ even--parity energy level swere analyzed and some "unknown" energy levels predicted by the obtained criteria. Some wrongly assigned electronic configurations by the Counter Propagation Network (CLN)have been corrected by using the PCA method. The assignments of the electronic configurations of atomic spectrum can be assigned and predicted elfectively by classification criteria obtained by both pattern recognition andspace mapping, which are useful for atomic spectrum analysis.
