On Specific Heat of Wood by Statistical Thermodynamics

Abstract
In this paper, the theoretical expression of the specific heat of wood is derived on the microstructure of wood by applying some basical principles in statistical thermodynamics and further simplified as follows:C0 =0.2801+0.001581t Then, the specific heat of 27 species of trees with different moisture contents and temperature is calculated by the formula. Compared with the experimental value in the same condition the calculation result is less than 11% with maximum error, the average error within 5%. It is obvious the agreement between the both value is very good.
