    R.F. Ion Trap and the Detection of Trapped Ions

    • The technical details of the r.f. ion trap established in our lab are reported. The radio-frequency detection method and the fluorescence detection method of trapped ions are discribed. We have also discussed the measurement of the some quantities related to trapped ions, such as the total number of trapped ions, the trapping time of ions and the density, mean kinetic-energy and distribution width of trapped ion cloud.
