Multiphoton lonization and Dissociation of Methyl Azide
-
Abstract
The muiltiphoton ionization and dissociation of methyl azide at 355 nm was studied experimentally on a home-made molecular beam laser multiphoton ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer. The Resonant multiphoton ionization Rydberg spectra of the same molecule was also recorded in a gas cell. Based on our results an ionization/disso-ciation mechanism for the observed rich fragment ions has been proposed. 3p,3d,4s,4d and 5s Rydberg states are assigned in the spectrum according to Rydberg formula.
