Study on The Concentration Effects in GPC 4. A New Method for Determination of Second Virial Coefficients from the Concentration Effects
-
Abstract
In this paper a new relation between the second virial coefficients A2, \left(\barM_*\right) and (dVes/dC)C→0=Ks was derived from proposed model theory of concentration effects for mono and polydispersed polymers. They are given in equations (13) and (14). Basing these equations a new method for determination of second virial coefficients from the combination of (dVes/dc)c→0, \left(\barM_*\right) and KH measurements was proposed. The concentration effects in GPC for mono and polydispersed polystyrene with molecular weight range from 104 to 106 were studied. The values of A2 for these polystyrene in good and theta solvents were determind by proposed method, Results show that their values of A2 are in agreement with the other obtained by light scatting, and the proposed method is useful for determinating the A2 of polymers with molecular weight range from 104 to 106.
