    Transport of Exciton and Charge Carrier in Solid Solar Cell of Organic p-n Heterojunction

    • The theoretical model on the transport process of excitons and carriers in solid solar cell of organic p-n heterojunction had been developed on the basis of the experiment.Only excitons,both created in the junction region and diffused into the junction region from the generated sites in the neutral region contribute to a photocurrent.These photo-generated excitons can be dissociated into free charge carriers by built-in field at the organic/organic interface,thus holes are preferentially transported in p-type layer (e.g.ClAlPc) while electrons are transported in n-type layer (e.g.Me-PTC).In terms of the above model,it is discussed that.Frster energy transfers from the Me-PTC layer to the ClAlPc layer in the Me-PTC/ClAlPc heterojunction cell,and that both fill factor and photoelectric conversion efficiency are superior to those of the single-layer Schottky cell.
