Photoionization Studies of CCl4 Using Synchrotron Radiation: The Measurements of Ionic Formation Enthalpies and Bond Energies
-
Abstract
The photoionization and photodissociative ionization processes of CCl4 have been investigated under the supersonic beam conditions using synchrotron radiation. The experimental results show that the parent ion is extremely unstable. Based on the measured appearance potential (AP) of the ionic fragments from the photodissociation ionization of CCl4, the related ionic formation enthalpies, the bond dissociation energies (BDE) of ionic and neutral species, the dissociation energies (DE) of parent ion have been evaluated. The most possible channels of dissociative photoionization and other probably kinetic processes have been analyzed.
