Single-pulse Shock Tube Studies on the Reaction Rate of Decomposition of Titanium Tetrachloride
-
Abstract
The decomposition of TiCl4 has been studied in a single pulse shock tube. Reaction extent is determined by measuring the ethylene yielded from the induced decomposition of the scavenger cyclohexane attacked by the TiCl4 decomposition product Cl. The rate expression has been obtained k\left(\mathrmTiCl_4 \rightarrow \mathrmTiCl_3 \cdot+\mathrmCl \cdot\right)=10^16,4 \exp \left(-\frac41,700T\right) \sec ^-1.
