Abstract
Binary cluster ions of carbon and silican as well as the cluster ions with an extra hydrogen atom were produced on a selfbuilt apparatus by laser ablating silican carbide mixed with polycyclic aromatic compounds. The recorded time-of-flight mass spectra showed the even/odd alternation of the relative signal intensities of the cluster ions. Valence structures of the binary cluster ions were discussed base on their mass distributions.
