Abstract
The LIF spectra of BaCl produced under single collision conditions from the reactions Ba+C6H5CH2Cl, C6H5Cl, o,m,p-C6H4ClCH3 have been obtained, and the relative reactive cross sections of these reactions have been measured. The results show that the reactive cross sections of the reactions Ba+o,m,p-C6H4ClCH3 are nearly equal if no rearrangement occured in the reaction Ba+C6H4ClCH3. It has been found that the presence of the radical may reduce the reactivity of the chlorine. A simple statistical model is used for explaination of these results, and a new reactive mechanism is suggested.
