Study for Resonance Enhancement Multiphoton Dissociation (REMPD) of CS2+
-
Abstract
By using mass distinguished excitation spectra the resonance enhancement multiphoton dissociation (REMPD) of \mathrmCS_2^+in range 465-485 \mathrm~nm has been studied. It is shown that the production of the fragment, ions, \mathrmCS^+, \mathrmS^+and \mathrmC^+is mainly attributed to the photolysis of the parent ion \mathrmCS_2^+by comparing the excitation spectra of various ions. For the photon which energy is about 2.6 eV or more, the fragment ions \mathrmCS^+and \mathrmS^+are produced via 1+1 and 1+2 photon dissociation, respectively, enhanced by the \tildeA^2 \pi_\mathrmu \leftarrow \tildeX^2 \pi_\mathrma transition of \mathrmCS_2^+. At the lower photon energy which is below 2.6 eV obviously, the fragment ions \mathrmCS^+and \mathrmS^+are produced via direct 2 and 3 photon dissociation respectively.
