Phase-Structures of Photo Crosslinked Polyethylene Studied by Raman Spectroscopy

Abstract
The mass fractions of the crystalline phase,interphase,and amorphous phase in the photo crosslinked polyethylene have been determined by Raman spectroscopy.The effects of both photo crosslinking and temperature on the recrystallization of polyethylene were also discussed.The results show that photo crosslinking can hinder the recrystallization of high-density polyethylene,in which the crystallinity decreases while the mass fraction of the interphase increase with the increase of the degree of crosslinking,however,it has little effect on the recrystallization of low-density polyethylene.On the other hand,the influence of crosslinking on the crystallization of crosslinked polyethylene is much less than that of temperature.
