Investigation of Orientation Distribution of Molecular Segments on the Non-crystalline PET Fibres
-
Abstract
The two dimensional scattering intensity of oriented non-crystalline polyethylene tetrephthalate (PET) fibres for a draw ratio (Dr) of 1.5 ~4.3 at ambient temperature is determined by symmetrical transmission method; Besides, self-compiled WAXS multi-peak separation program MPS96 is used as well to separate the overiapped peaks at WAXS coherent scattering intensity curves obtained at different azimuthal angles, there of resulting to the two peaks caused by intermoloecular atomic diffraction, KA=0.141 nm-1 and KB= 0.172 nm-1, and the other two by intra-molecular atomic diffraction such as: KC= 0.311 nm-1, KD= 0.555 nm-1 of which the origin of structure and the C peaks intensity as a function of the Dr and azimuthal angles α are detailedly analysed, thus obtaining a X-ray determination method of orientation segments distribution in non-crystalline polymers.
