POINT-GROUP SYMMETRY CORRELATION, ALIGNMENT AND ORIENTATION IN POLYATOMIC PHOTOFRAGMENTATION

Abstract
The treatment of the two-photon nonresonant excitation is extended to allow the initial and final states to have different point group symmetry as well as continuous group symmetry. The results can be applied to atoms, linear molecules, symmetric-top molecules and asymmetric-top molecules. The formalism of two-photon electric-dipole transition given in our previous paper4 is now applied to D3h point group.
