Study of the Splittings of the Ions', Resonance Absorption Signals in a Paul Trap
In the scheme of scanning the additional confining DC voltage, the splittings of the Rf resonance absorption signals of the ions in a Paul trap are systematically observed. This phenomenon is one kind of manifestation of the nonlinearity of the ion-cloud motion, which can be explained by the anharmonic oscillation due to the imperfect trap configuration and the space distribution of ions.
