The Product Formation Rate Constants by Helium Flowing-Afterglow Reaction of Methyl Halides

In this paper, we used the flowing-afterglow technique to study the energy transfer processes of metastable He with several methyl halides. Taking the reaction He（2³s）+CO as a reference reaction, we measured the absolute rate constant for the formation of electronically excited products from the reaction of He（2³s） with CHCl₃,CH₂Cl₂,CH₂Br₂ and CH₃I. Finally, we discussed the formation mechanism of the excited fragments.
