The Oxidation of n-Butanol on Electrolytic Silver
-
Abstract
The oxidation of n-Butanol on electrolytic silver catalyst has been studied using a ultra-high vacuum temperature—programmed-reaction-spectroscopy (TPRS) and a transient response method. It was found that n-Butanol can adsorb on the surface of electrolytic silver slightly at room temperature and desorbed at 362K. Reaction of n—Butanol with preadsorbed oxygen give three groups of products at 363K, 461K and 612K, respectively. Based on our experimental results, a reaction mechanism was proposed.
