    Structural Studies of Ni-P Superfine Amorphous Alloys

    • In this paper extended X—ray absorption fine Structure (EXAFS) has been used to investigate the Structures of Ni—P alloys prepared with chemical reduction at many initial PH condiction. The results show that Ni100-xPx alloy is amorphous structure while atom concentration of P is above 14 %. In the fiest coordination shell of Ni—P amorphous alloy, as P cement of Ni—P increases, the coordination numbers of P atom increase evidently, however, the coordination numbers of Ni atom keep nearly the same. The thermal disorder aT and the structural disorder a. of Ni atoms in the Ni76P24 amorphous alloy are 0. 07and 0. 21 A respectively, this a. is about one time larger than that of Ni86P14. The large sructural disorder a. indicates that Ni atoms of the first shell distribute in a big region deviating from the average distance.
