    An XPS Study of Electronic Structure of Potassium Molybdenum Bronze

    • The electronic structures of purple bronze K0.9Mo6O17 and blue bronze K0.3MoO3 were studied by XPS.According to the Mo3d core level spectra Mo6+ ,Mo5+ and Mo4+ ions are found in the purple bronze and Mo6+ ,Mo5+ in the blue bronze.The average of their valence states is 5.52 and 5.73 respectively.By comparison of their valence band and core level spectra,we think it is very sensitive that the electronic structure of there molybdenum bronze is affacted by stoichiometric composition of potassium ions.
