    Catalytic Activity of Nanocrystalline Manganese Oxides for CO Oxidation

    • Catalytic activity of three nanoctystalline MnO2, Mn2O3 and Mn3O4 powders for carbon monoxide oxidation reaction has studied via contrast with the corresponding coarsely-grained powders. Experimental results show that particale size has a great effect on the activity of catalysts and the activity of nanometer powders is much better than the corresponding coarsely-grained powders. After acycle of catalytic activity experiment, although the particle sizes of nanocrystalline manganese oxides grow to a certain extent, they still keept in nanometer level. This indicatesthat the nanocrystallinen manganese oxide powders arerelatively stable as catalysts for CO oxidation, so they canbe used as cheap and easily-get catalysts for CO conversion.
