    The Product Formation Rate Constants for Reactions of Metastable CO(a) With CS2 and CS

    • In this paper, we used the flowing-afterglow Technique to study the energy transfer and chemical reaction processes of Metastable CO(a) with CS2 and CS. We measured the product formation rate constants or CS(A) and CS(a) from the reaction or CO(a) with CS2 and CS. The rate constant or reaction CO(a)+CS2 measured are 3.46×10-11cm3∙molec-1∙sec-1 and 1.14×10-10cm3∙molec-1∙sec-1 for formation of CS(A) and CS(a) respectively. The rate constants of reaction CO(a)+CS measured are 1.3×10-11cm3∙molec-1∙sec-1 and 1.07×10-10cm3∙molec-1∙sec-1 for formations of CS(A) and CS(a). Finally, the discussion of the formation mechanism or the excited fragment is presented.
