Structural Characterization of Amphiphilic Zinc Phthalocyanine Langmuir-Blodgett Multilayer Assemblies by FT-IR Spectroscopy

A new amphiphilic zinc phthalocyanine （TAZnPc） containing long alkyl chains covalently linked to TAZnPc macroring was synthesized. Multilayers were deposited on hydrophobic ChF₂ slide. IR spectrum of solid and LB film were studied. The orientation of long hydrocarbon ehain in the films was characterized by Fourier-transform IR （FT-IR） method. The result showed that the TAZnPc macroring was nearly parallel to the slide while the hydrocarbon chains inclined on the substrate at an angle of about 30°with respect to the substrate surfsee.
