    Studied on the Coordination Effect of Ni(II) with Chitosan and Catalytic Property of Coordination Polymer

    • The coordination effect of Ni(II) with chitosan and compo sition,structure of Ni-CS coordination polymer obtained were studied by ESR,XPS,IR,UV-Vis,DTA-TG and specific conductivity.It was comfirmed that the Ni-CS coordination polymer is high spin and there is a distorted octahedral distribution of three N and three O ligands from three CS residues around Ni(II).The Ni-CS coordination polymer was active as catalyst for the polymerization of MMA in the presence of Na2SO3.The Mw and Mn of PMMA calculated from GPC spectra is 5.53×105 and 1.66×105,respectively.Based on its IR spectra,PMMA is radically polymerized and possessed random structure.
