Collisional Depolarization of Xe(6p3/22) State in Xe and Ne
The polarization feature of Xe(6p3/22 or 2p6) produced using two-photon excitation was changed by collision with Xe and Ne. The polarization degrees at various Xe and Ne pressures were studied by monitoring the decay of the fluorescence intensity of the vertical and horizontal polarizations. The rate constants of collisional depolarization were determined.
