Studies of Photophysical Properties on HpD-laser No.3 in the Presence of Cationic Surfactants

Abstract
The therapeutic efficacy of PDT to treat malignant tumors is related to the capability of the photosensitizer to absorb light at a wavelenth that can be penetrate into tissues, The photophysical properties of HpD-laser No.3 are first studied in phosphate buffer at different CTAB concentrations, indicating the presence of different emitting molecular species in a different configuration state. The existence of an energy transfer mechanism was observed in the sample under a proper surfactant concentration due to the interaction between HpD and the surfactant.
