The Periodic Table of Triatomic Molecules
-
Abstract
All the AB2 and ABC type triatomic molecules consisting of main group elements have been classified according to their valence electronic configurations. A Periodic table for triatomic molecules is initiated.
There are 24 groups of molecules which are listed in 24 columns in the table. The group number G is defined as the number of the valence electrons. The molecules are also divided into 10 periods, which are listed in 10 rows of the table. The period P is the sum of the period numbers of the three composed atoms in the periodic table of elements.
The major properties of triatomic molecules then vary periodically with the molecular number N which is the sequence order of the postion in the periodic table.
