Study of Ion-exchange Selectivity of Natural Mordenite to Sn4+ and Sn2+ by Mossuer Spectrum
-
Abstract
Ion-exchange was conducted etween natural mordenite and aqueous solutions of three tin salts (SnCl2·2H2O,SnCl4·5H2O,2SnCl2·2H2O+SnCl4·5H2O) respectively.Ion-exchanged natural mordenite was washed 10 times by distilled water and then dried at 70 degree centigrade.Mossbauer spectra of washed and dried natural mordenite were recorded at same conditions. The relative areas of resonance absorption peaks were calculated according to the Mossbauer spectra recorede. The relative contents of Mossbauer nuclei contained in the samples were derived from the relative ares of resonance absoption peaks of Mossbauer spectra. The result indicated that the number of Sn4+ is 5.8 times of that of Sn2+, when they were exchanged into the channels of natural mordenite at same time. The conclusion was obtained that the ion-exchanged that the ion-exchange selectivity of natural mordenite to Sn4+ is higher to Sn2+.
