    Time of Flight Photoelectron Spectrometer with Magnetic Bottle Paralleliser

    • The principle and structure of our time-of-flight photoelectron spectrometer is described. The photoelectrons ejected over 2π steradians from a small multiphoton ionization region are paralleled into a 2m long flight tube by a magnetic lens (magnetic bottle). With this spectrometer the photoelectron energics of Xe, C, I and NO have been measured giving the energy calibration curve of this spectrometer. The energy resolution is 7mcV at photoelectron kinetic energy Ek=0.6eV.
